Our special Welsh girl Megan passed
away suddenly on Friday 7th August.

Words cannot describe our sadness.

Good night my darling sleep tight.

Always in our hearts.

OTAGO TED BAKER 22-6-2003 - 22-7-2010

At 7pm on 22nd July we had to say goodbye to our beloved boy Dutch Otago Ted Baker. He had lost his battle with cancer just a few weeks after being diagnosed. We are heartbroken.

The smallest of his mother Molly's only litter of 13 we hand reared him and then hand fed him for the rest of his life, so I had a special bond with him. But he grew into a fine figure of a dog with the most perfect of temperaments.

If anyone spoke to him at shows he used to jump up and put his feet on my shoulders and then lean across to give them a kiss.
He did consistently well at shows gaining his stud book number and being placed twice at Crufts, but most of all he was a joy to live with.

Some questioned why we used his father Andor Absolut but we have no regrets. Not only did we get excellent bloodlines which we carry on through Dutch's nephews and nieces, but we had the most perfect dog in Dutch.

We are pleased to announce the safe arrival of our Whina / Ozzy litter
Whina gave birth to 11 healthy puppies on 17th April. Mum and puppies are doing well.
She has 8 boys ( 6 black / rust & 2 brown / rust ) and 3 girls ( 2 black / rust & 1 brown / rust ).

At the moment we definitely have available 4 black males and possibly 1 brown male. The bitches are possibly all booked.

We are hopeful that some of these puppies will go to show homes.

LITTER DUE

We are expecting a litter of puppies on or around 20th April.

The dam is our girl OTAGO AROHA 'Whina'

The sire is our brown boy OTAGO RUNANGA 'Ozzy'

For this litter we have chosen to line breed our English lines whilst keeping several top European bloodlines in the pedigree.

Whina has been lightly shown but did extremely well when shown. Amongst her wins she was awarded Best Puppy Bitch at Scottish Dobermann Club Championship Show.

Ozzy has been consistently placed at championship show and open show level. He gained his Stud Book Number at Paignton Champ Show. He is the sire of our own OTAGO MAAKA 'Max' and OTAGO HINIMONA 'Rosie' who can be seen on Our Dogs page.

Our dobermann puppies are bred for soundness of temperament and conformation and expect this litter to be of excellent quality and type.

Whina is VWD clear, PHPV clear and Hips 4 : 3
Ozzy is VWD clear, PHPV clear and Hips 6 : 5
The litter will be VWD clear by parentage.

11TH DECEMBER 2009

We felt that we wanted to include this very sad news in our website.
We learned today that Russkaja Mechta Andor Absolut passed away on 1st December. Andor is the father of our beautiful Libby ( Otago Kenzo Kashaya ) and handsome Dutch ( Otago Ted Baker ). We decided to mate our lovely Molly ( Otago Kaikoura Moon ) to Andor because of his wonderful nature and excellent quality. We were one of the first to use him and are very proud to say that we continue to carry his excellent bloodlines in Libby's children Lily, Bonnie ,Max & Rosie . We also have his great grandchildren in our latest litter sired by Max ( Otago Maaka ) and hopefully in Rosie's future litter.
It was an honour to have met him and to be able to use him in our kennel.
Such a great loss to the world of showing and working alike.
Our sympathies and thoughts are with his owners Robert & Monique at this sad time.
I will never forget him.
Perhaps he is running free now with our Molly.

That means FOUR of Libby's (Otago Kenzo Kashaya) litter by Aritaur Nominator will be going to Crufts next year.
They will join four from Libby's previous litter on the day.Well done Libby.

We have mated our little girl 'Annie' Otago Razzamatazz to our very handsome boy 'Max' Otago Maaka.

Annie has been confirmed in whelp and the litter is due around 15th November.

Once again this is a ' home grown ' litter, an exciting combination of top European and English bloodlines.
We are expecting the puppies to be of excellent quality and type and undoubtedly wonderful temperaments.

Annie never liked showing but is a wonderful companion with the sweetest of natures

On 26th January our lovely 'Libby' Otago Kenzo Kashaya (top right) was mated to 'Falk' Aritaur Nominator (bottom right) and we are confident she is in whelp.

The pedigree contains some outstanding bloodlines including Royal Bell, Van Het Wantij and World Champion Gino Gomez del Citone on the european side and Chaanrose and Otherton on the english side.

Libby has already produced some beautiful progeny in her two previous litters. Four from her first litter qualified for Crufts 2008 and two of those have qualified again for 2009.They will be joined by four from her second litter at Crufts 2009.
Falk has proven to be an excellent sire with several very successful progeny. Both parents have excellent temperaments.
Libby is VWD carrier and PHPV clear. Falk is VWD clear, PHPV clear and hips 3 : 3.

We are very excited about this combination and the bloodlines are expected to produce excellent type and character - ideal for show and working alike and of course companionship.

We are bitterly disappointed to say that Buffy has not had the puppies she was scanned for. We do not know the reason why but the whelping date has passed with no puppies. We are very sad but Buffy is fine which is our priority.
We hope to try again with Buffy sometime later in the year.

We have decided to mate Libby again as she has produced some beautiful babies already, including our own Rosie,Max,Lily and Bonnie.We have chosen to stay with the same sire Aritaur Nominator.

Libby will be mated in the next few days any news and developments will be posted on the website.
